March 10: Midstate Classic Softball Showdown

If spring means ball season to you, head to the Midstate Classic at Ridley Park for a full day of collegiate softball action. The lineup is stacked: 

  • Columbia Central High School vs. Spring Hill High School (10:00 am)
  • Columbia State Community College vs. Calhoun College (1:30 pm)
  • UT Lady Vols vs. Austin Peay (5:30 pm)

March/April: You Pick Tulip Fest at Liberty Grace Farms

Spring blooms on its own schedule and when the tulips are ready, Liberty Grace Farms opens its fields for their annual You Pick Tulip Fest. Wander through rows of vibrant color, clip your own bouquet, and take in the kind of views that make you slow down a little. It's a picture-perfect outing for families, couples, or anyone ready to swap winter grey for spring color.

April 3: First Fridays Are Back

Downtown Columbia comes alive when First Fridays return on Friday, April 3rd. Hosted by Columbia Main Street and happening the first Friday of every month April through December, this community favorite is the perfect way to experience Columbia like a local. What should you expect? Picture the streets lined with local craft vendors, food trucks sprinkled throughout just begging to be sampled, live music floating through the air, and downtown shops joining in on the fun by extending their hours. 

April 9-11: Mule Day! 

You can't talk about spring in Columbia without talking about Mule Day.

Dating back to the 1840s, Mule Day is Columbia's largest and most well-known event and it's a full weekend of tradition, energy, and community pride. Events take place at Maury County Park and other select locations throughout town, featuring everything from a Mule Pulling competition and an Auctioneers Contest to a massive craft show. 

The weekend highlight? The Mule Day Parade on Saturday, April 11th at 11:00 am, marching through historic downtown Columbia. It's a spectacle that you truly have to see to understand. Head to Carmack Blvd and W 7th Street to grab your spot!

April 11: Bloodys & Biscuits at the Polk Home 

Before the parade kicks off, head to the Polk Home for one of Mule Day weekend's most beloved traditions: Bloodys & Biscuits. Sip bloody marys, enjoy warm ham biscuits, and listen to music on the historic grounds. It's laid-back, festive, and a uniquely Columbia way to start the big day. April 18: Cars & Coffee Returns to Columbia Motor Alley 

Car lovers... this one's for you. Columbia Cars & Coffee is back on Saturday, April 18th at Columbia Motor Alley and continues every third Saturday of the month through October. Expect a lineup of classic, vintage, muscle, and exotic cars - plus local coffee and live music to really round out the morning. 

Enthusiasts travel from across the region for this one, and it's easy to see why. The setting, variety, and atmosphere make it more of a gathering than a car show.

April 18: Big Bleu Pickin' Party 

Just across the street from Cars & Coffee, the Big Bleu Pickin' Party takes over downtown the very same day. Hosted by Bleu 32, this event brings together antique vendors, live music, and food trucks for a day of treasure hunting and toe-tapping. It's the kind of event where you might leave with a handful of items you didn't know you needed.
