I love designing, whether a canvas, a piece of jewelry, interior spaces or the façade of a structure. My eyes search for shapes, patterns, textures, balance, and colors in everything I do. As a little girl, the transforming power color and shapes had to a blank page while coloring would captivate me for hours. In my youth, my mother would enroll me in college art classes and summer programs to nurture my artistic drive. After graduating from O’More College of Design in Franklin, Tennessee, over twenty-five years ago and practicing interior design, those years proved inspirational. Interior design heightened my unique sense of color, shapes, and balance as they played a significant role in spaces I created. But, the world of design didn’t totally satisfy my need for creativity. I’ve always painted, but reluctantly I accepted a birthday gift from my mother to attend an abstract painting workshop many years ago. The thought of painting a canvas without a subject was terrifying. But it only took a few strokes and I was freed to express outside the lines. The expression of color and shapes presented itself allowing me to become immersed in my paintings, like no other creative endeavor yet. I couldn’t get enough. I am totally involved in my paintings...and they’re involved in me. I share everything with them, all my emotions are there, somewhere, in those canvases. When you view my work, it’s my hope your senses are heightened with all I poured into them.
