Save the Date: Inaugural Fruit Tea Festival Coming to Columbia June 26, 2027
Columbia, Tn (September 15, 2026) – Visit Columbia, the official destination marketing organization for the City of Columbia, has announced the inaugural Fruit Tea Festival, set for Saturday, June 26, 2027, at Riverwalk Park in Columbia, Tennessee. The festival was announced during Columbia Main Street’s Fruit Teaser event on September 12th, as Columbia celebrated a new chapter in its connection to the local favorite. As part of the event, the City of Columbia officially proclaimed Columbia as the Fruit Tea Capital of the World and fruit tea as the official drink of Columbia.
The Fruit Tea Festival will play a significant role in establishing fruit tea as another recognizable part of Columbia’s identity and something visitors come to know and associate with the city. It follows the recent launch of Visit Columbia’s Fruit Tea Trail, which features more than 20 local businesses serving their own versions of the Columbia staple and gives residents and visitors another way to experience the community’s fruit tea tradition.
The festival is being planned on a broader scale than many of Columbia’s traditional community events. Designed to draw visitors from across the region, plans include a notable lineup of live musical entertainment, an expansive selection of craft vendors, numerous food trucks, a fruit tea tasting competition, and more. The regional draw of the event will create a new tourism opportunity for Columbia while generating greater economic impact for restaurants, shops and other businesses throughout the community.
“Fruit tea is special to Columbia because it has been part of everyday life here for generations,” said Kellye Murphy, Tourism & Marketing Director for the City of Columbia. “It has been served around family dinner tables, brought to gatherings and celebrations, and ordered alongside a meal at local restaurants. There is a familiarity and sense of home tied to fruit tea here, and that is what makes it such an authentic part of Columbia’s story. The festival gives us a unique opportunity to celebrate something that already means so much to our community and share it with even more people.”
