Girls' Weekend

Day One

A weekend getaway with the gals should start with a filling breakfast at Marcy Jo's Muletown where the coffee aroma and cinnamon rolls hit the spot. Ready to explore? Take a walk over to the President James K. Polk Home for an interesting history lesson and beautiful views of the Polk Gardens - the gardens make for the perfect photo opp. Now it's time to shop! Historic Downtown Columbia promises the best shopping experience you've ever had...and you'll be supporting our local retailers! Smith & York, Tin Cottage, Faded Farmhouse, Amy Montgomery Home, Ye Peddler - there are too many great retailers to name. 

Lunch will hit the spot after such rewarding retail therapy, don't you think? You are in for a real treat at Square Market & Cafe. You cannot go wrong with any menu items, but we will give you an insight to some local favorites - granberry chicken salad, crab bisque soup, chicken alfredo. Autumn Cut the Cheese is also a great option for lunch offering yummy sandwiches and charcuterie boards! 

Ready for an afternoon activity full of the arts? West 7th Company and the Columbia State Pryor Art Gallery both offer fabulous art exhibits o see the latest art exhibits While you're in an arts-inspired state of mind, you'll want to visit the Columbia Arts District, a newly emerging district with a handful of businesses you've got to experience like the Columbia Arts Building that houses Wolf & Scout Coffee, Bad Idea Brewing, Glover's Secondhand, and many more.

Now it's time for a night out on the town! Kick off the evening at Farmstead Market Winery & Cellars to experience the wonderful view overlooking downtown. Who's ready for dinner? There are so many options - Southern Tre Steakhouse, Barino Itailain Southern Eatery, Mama Mila's - and they will all have a good meal waiting for you.

Day Two

Let's start the day with of course a coffee from the must-visit coffee spot - Muletown Coffee.

If you visit May-October, the next stop must be the Columbia Farmers' Fresh Market. Indulge in the natural foods, artisan goods, and of course the beautiful fresh flowers. 

Day 1 was an eventful day, let's spend the morning with some relaxation at Elia Day Spa. Elia will leave you rejuvinated and relaxed with their toxin-free, speciality facials and massages.

Time for lunch? Buckhead Coffeehouse will leave your tastebuds satisfied, while offering the warmest and quaint atmosphere. BONUS: You can shop next door at the Twig boutique while your lunch is being prepared! 

Spend your afternoon taking a scenic drive through the countryside as you make your way to a marvelous vineyard and winery tucked away just west of Columbia. Head to Amber Falls Winery for an intimate tasting of some of the best wines around. Hey, there may even be live music going on so purchase your favorite wine and sit outside where you can soak up the flavor, the scenery and the fresh country air.

The Mulehouse, Columbia's once Baptist Church renovated into an iconic music venue, has to be on your visit list. Check out the live concerts happening and also visit The Lounge. The Lounge is downstairs at The Mulehouse and offers great cocktails with an eclectic, eccentric vibe. 

River Terrace will offer a delicious dinner as a way to celebrate the close to your Girls' Getaway. River Terrace has great water views of the Duck River and their food and drinks are a burst of great flavor.
