  • Overview

Does your child want to learn to play a musical instrument? Start with the ukulele! It’s light, portable, and so much fun! In this class, your child will learn the basics of playing Ukulele. You will learn how to to care for your instrument including tuning and string set up. This is a 6 week session that builds upon itself every week. It is open to youth ages 8 - 14. The course fee is for lessons only; students will need to bring their own instrument. Where to find an affordable starter instrument? Students can get reasonably priced ukuleles on Amazon or at area music stores for around $50. Kmise Ukelele kit is a nice all inclusive kit on Amazon. What kind of instrument should I get? Soprano, Tenor, and Concert Ukuleles can be used (tuned GCEA). Concert and tenor sizes have increasingly longer fretboards and makes the instrument more versatile. (Please note, this class is not for Baritone Ukelele as the tuning is different). Get strings at any local music store, or on Amazon Finally, this is not a requirement but it is highly recommended you purchase the course book we'll be working through: Bert Casey’s Ukulele Primer. You can find it on Amazon Join this class to learn a truly beautiful skill that you can take with you anywhere you go.
